A few questions about removing and replanting a bit...
Well, my melon swords are basically gone thanks to Mr. Silver Dollar and company (herbivorous fish plants my butt, yet I expected as much). I intend to do a water change, remove the swords and maybe move around all the onions (regular variety, crims, natas, and dwarfs). Is this a bad idea?
At minimum, as someone here had suggested, I will be removing all my Anubias and soaking them in a Flourish Excel and tank wanter solution, scrubbing the algae off with a soft toothbrush. I know it is not a big deal to take the anubias out of the tank. What about my other plants?
If a dose the whole tank with flourish, are there any problems to be foreseen with any of these species?
My Java Lace plant has done well, but my java fern mat still looks terrible. Should I break the whole mat apart and replant? I don't really have cracks on my driftwood, for the java fern, so I am just keeping them in gravel. Any other suggestions? I tried tying them to driftwood in the past, but I have terrible fine motor skills.
P.S. Any directions on how to better deal with the ugly mess that is my java fern mat will be appreciated. 1/4 of it is briown, and the better leaves are still not the green I see in most pictures of the species.
