Water Change In New Tank

we are transfering some of our fish to a new tank-an adult molly and some fry. Tank is curently stable. how often should we water change initially?

the issue when changing tanks around isn't really water changes, it's filters.

if you have a mature filter set up on your current tank, all you need to do with the new tank is set it up, fill with water and hook your existing filter up to it, then when it's heated up to the right temp transfer your fish across.

maintenance should then just be weekly water changes as per usual
