So at this moment i am doing in fish cycle with mollies platties and some otos. After i do the water change how long do i wait to test the water? and is a 10%-20% good enough or should i do more? any advice would be helpful for me. thanks much.

If you're fish in cycling test at least every 24 hours ideally 12 hours. If ammonia or nitrite is present at any level do a large water change.

I'd recommend minimum water change will fish in cycling be 50%.

If you start getting ammonia reading up it to 75%.

I usually wait 5 minutes after adding or taking anything away from the tank, to let it spread through the tank. I suspect I don't need to wait that long though :p

20% every week.
I tried the fish-in one once... only 2 deaths.

20% a week while cycling. This is not good advice.

I think she means after a water change when should she check again to see if ammonia has built up.

yes i do mean after water change how long should i wait to test again to make sure the ammonia and nitRITE are down. I hit the peek where the ammonia and nitRite are high and dont want to hurt the fish.
