I've just finished treating my tank for white spot. Is there a common amount of water % I need to do? Consecutive days? I know adding the carbon back will help clean it up but wasn't sure about the water change. Thanks.

This is the first time that I've had to treat a tank and I'm pretty new with keeping fish.

Thanks. Do you have any idea how long it will be until I can get accurate water readings? This tank is cycling and I'm a little worried about the quality. The fish are all acting normal but still worried. Thanks

Interesting question! I've not seen any charts that lay out which meds have what effect of which water tests... anybody?

When you put the carbon back in, remember that carbon is only effective for about 3 days, then you have to throw it out and replace it with fresh. You'll want to do that repeatedly for a while to remove all the meds and then at some point stop using carbon as its not ideal to use on a regular basis, partly for this very reason!

Thanks for the advice. If I don't use the carbon on a regular basis, what would I use for mech. filter? I have Aqueon filters with the grid holder for the carbon. I would think the grid will get gunked up and I believe the grid is supposed to hold bacteria. Guess I could clean out in used water.
