Wasted Air Pump Or....?

I had received a Fluval Q1 from a friend, brand new but he didn't need.  At the time I was going to replace my current pump; but I removed the UGF system so no longer needed.  I am curious if I should use it with some bubble wands for more water movement but I run 580 GPH on a 55 Gallon tank so it seems unecessary other then stirring up the bottom of the tank instead of just agitating the top.  Would a bubble wand help plants at all or just for looks?

Bubblers drive off CO2 in the water so it definitely wouldn't help your plants. I've also never been a fan of bubblers unless they are powering a filter. Bubble wands cause a lot of movement and it distracts from the fish.
