Washing Test Tubes

This is a dumb question but how do you clean your test tubes? I have been rinsing mine very well with tap water but they are looking filmy on the inside. I'm afraid that if that is test residue, that my tests will not be accurate. Do you use a bottle brush and soapy water? Also, do you mark your tubes and use the same ones for the same tests every time? As you can tell, I am a newbie.

No, I just rinse them out in tap water a couple times, thats about it.

This has nothing with being a newbie or fish. Wash it like you would anything else

Hotwater, something skinny i.e. q tip

Just water. And I mix my tubes up all the time. I shouldn't, but hey.

Hi..I agree with the rest..just wash with tap water. However, I add a few ccs of the aquarium water I'm testing just to roll around and rinse the tube out before I add the test aliquot. Just old habits from chemistry lab. lol SH
