Wanted!

Personally, it would anger me. That's like someone passing off my picture/work/project as their own. Ask me and I would give permission, but to just take it and use it like was yours?!... NO.

if they were claiming it as there own then i would be angry but not if they were jus showing a pic or using it to ID.

i guess ive always jus taken pics to be shared and to show, not as a project or hobby.

I'd be with sam i would take it as a complimant for taking good fish photos ,but at the end of the day copyright is copyright and its illigial and could get the forum in truuble i guess.

I don't think the forum would get in trouble, nor would the person using them, but I would, and I don't mind as there was nothing saying these photos were copyrighted, nor do they have a copyright symbol on them. If they weren't to be shared, why would they put them on google? I was the one to find these pictures and I accept full responsibility for the blame/if any of any copyright actions that may be taken with these photos. Personally I think if anyone tries to sue me or anyone for it, and it didn't have any blatant signs of copyright on. Then IMHO, they are pathetic, unless they were stating "here is a picture of my fish".
Regards,
Neal :good:

So even if I get if I get permission to use pictures off the web, I cant use them here? Hmmm, it seems nobody here owns targetfish and less likely woul have pictures. Ill try to see if any LFS's have any in stock to take a picture of, but they are very rare and usually only in LFS's through special orders. Quite frankly I am too poor to order a shoal of 5 target fish at 2 inches for $125 :X

Oh well, Im sure sooner or later somebody will come around with a picture

Potentially, any photograph or written piece of material produced by another person, belongs to them and can be covered by copyright law. Whether we would feel differently individually is immaterial. The rights of others must be respected. Therefore, photos and plagiarized web content shouldn't and won't be published here if we have knowledge of it. Those are forum rules.

However, if you can obtain permission from either a fellow member, website or the owner of the photo, it can be included with your TFF Index. You must have owned the fish at some point and be able to post your experience with it. SH

I have owned them before, for 4 years actually but unfortuantly had to give them away along with a lot of other tanks and fish before a move. So all I have to do is show you the permission I have obtained for the use of the photo and it can be included in the thread? If so I get it ASAP.
