These are 2 I got off a simple google search, you don't have to use them but I just thought i'd get you some pics.

I have just found a better one, the original site is in a different language but here's the link if you want it anyway.
Clicky

I saw some on google too, but the problem is getting permission to use the pics.

Well some of the sites don't get updated anymore, and i'm sure they wouldn't put them on google without them stating that you need permission to use them, they don't have a copyright symbol on them so I don't think you would get wrong for using them.

Youre right Neal! If they dont have a copy right, the worst they can do is ask for it to be taken down. Thanks!

Rule 2: The attached photograph must belong to you or a member of this forum, if the photo is not yours please ask the member for permision before using it and give a credit in your post.

As for copyright...it doesn't have to say it is, or have the sign. It's copyrighted to the original person by law.

"If it doesn't have a copyright notice, it's not copyrighted."
This was true in the past, but today almost all major nations follow the Berne copyright convention. For example, in the USA, almost everything created privately and originally after April 1, 1989 is copyrighted and protected whether it has a notice or not. The default you should assume for other people's works is that they are copyrighted and may not be copied unless you know otherwise. There are some old works that lost protection without notice, but frankly you should not risk it unless you know for sure.

It is true that a notice strengthens the protection, by warning people, and by allowing one to get more and different damages, but it is not necessary. If it looks copyrighted, you should assume it is. This applies to pictures, too. You may not scan pictures from magazines and post them to the net, and if you come upon something unknown, you shouldn't post that either.

I don't know about using pictures you don't have permission for...it could get the forum in trouble. -_-

ooops, already posted it. What should I do then?

That's hard to say....it seems no one here has any pictures. Do you know anyone from somewhere else who has these fish, or might have a picture you could ask permission for?

I agree that all pictures are implictly copyrighted. I would try emailing the webpages that are hosting the images you are interested in and asking for permission. Or you could find a LFS or aquarium that have targetfishes, go there, and ask permission to take pictures of their fish.

Hi..I was under the impression that these belong to AMS. I will 'invisibilize' the post until someone has a photo. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. SH

i dont mean to sound disrespectful cos i love this place but would they really mind?

maybe if we used all there servers bandwidth downloading the image for this site then yea but otherwise it shouldnt matter.

SamUK, are you saying that if someone copied a picture that you took of your fish, uploaded it to their server, and didn't tell you about it... you wouldn't mind either?

abosolutely not!!

why would i?

id be more impressed that someone wanted my photo!

its not worth anything and didnt kill me to get it so why would i be?

i understand its a totally different thing for professionals who make a living that way but i doubt theres anyone here like that.
