Want To Set Up Another Tank

i recently realised that i wish i had set my 130 gallon aquarium as a big cichlid tank and not a community tank, but ive put so much money into the aquarium as plants and decor that big cichlids would eat or destroy. but i still like my big community tank so...

i decided i would set up another tank (hopefully, as i havent asked my mom yet[she probably will say yes when i show her what it could potentially look like]).

i am wondering, if i buy a new tank (maximum 50 gallons) what kind of cichlid could i get (new world not old world). i want it at least 5 inches long, and i would like a jack dempsey and the profile on this forum said they need a minimum of 45 gallons, is that true? i also like firemouths, are there any other ideas? i need tank sizes for a pair and a single fish, and its growth size.

another thing im looking for is an intelligent fish, like an oscar but obviously quite a bit smaller.

any ideas? and if you have had the fish can you tell me of your experiences?

For a 55, I'd try a Green Terror or a Cuban cichlid as solo occupants. JD's generally don't make good wet pets.
