I have a small tropical tank that I would really like to fill with live plants.
The tank I have is 7US gallons. Im not sure what type of light it has with it.
The details on the light are :
Lum-247 11W 1x PS-L 11w G23.
From what I can figure out, it is an 11watt light.

It that enough for plants?

I would suggest you want 18W for a low to mid light and 24-30W for a highlight. small tanks like this don't comply with the WPG rule at all (that is if anyone can say that this rule applies to any tank these days)

Get a good brand of light for your fixture. try lampspecs if you are UK and it will more than likely be a little brighter than a cheaper or stock one.

Then get one of the Arcadia cheap reflectors (£5 from P@H) and cut it to fit in your hood fixing it to the lid above the light as it will not clip onto your light.

Then stick to the 'so called' low light plants like anubias, crypts, ferns and mosses etc.

What do have ia a tube which is 15watt and it might just fit in the tank.
Should I try and run this instead of my 11watt or maybe both of them.
