Want To Make A Lid For My 5'x2'x2'

i have a 5' x2' x2', which was my parents and the brace bars broke, so im getting 2 new ones to fit on it, but the lid flats snapped, so it would be too dear to buy the light and flaps, so now im wanting to build a top to it, im stuck on what materials to use, how to make the light unit, can anyone help?

ok so i was thinking really hard about this tank this is what im going to do, im haveing the brace bars replaced, then ill be puting this light unit on, and then i was thinking of puting mesh over the top of the tank...

how does that sound?

How about a glass/perspex lid then build a wooden hood for it which would house the lights and reflectors?!
