Walmart :(

lookit.
they had the bettas next to the TRASH yes that is a bag of trash on the floor, and to the right of the poor fishies were their store trash cans. couldnt get all of it in the pic.
a few of them dead, and others with real nasty yellow water. these were the veiltails, and then on a nice display they had about 6 crowntails. made me sad
my friend warned me not to go LOL.

That makes me so sad. I once went to a pet store with the tiny vases, that were only halfway filled with blue water. They didn't even have the decency to fill them to the top! When I bought my Luna, he could barely turn around in the vase and when I put him in a filtered, heated, 10 gallon tank, he looked so happy and suprised!
I think he realized that I had given him a second
chance at life. Now I feel a special bond with him, whenever I go to the tank, he quickly swims to me and does a little dance (tee hee!) of course I know that it is completly about wanting food but it still is cute!

I am really glad there is nothing quite like that near me, I would find that very upsetting.. I still don't agree with some of ours in with other fish or breeder traps but that picture really is awful.

I haven't seen anything like that in the uk, which almost makes me quite proud. The very worst I've seen is bettas being kept in breeding traps within other tanks, which isn't that bad at all really.

Ick. Yeah, seen that sort of thing before. The worst of it is that the cups are covered so the bettas cannot breathe. How can anybody think a fish can have adequate oxygen when kept in such a tiny container?

I think I'm logging off before I get warned for ranting and swearing, because that's what those photos make me feel like doing.

it makes me so mad to see these beautiful creatures kept like this...
if it was a room full of cats or dogs kept in tiny crates with hardly any air there would be prosecutions!!!
why is this allowed to happen???

i hate that! they don't care because they get them fo so cheap, and the fish just die or get treated like crap. i feel so sad for them.

I'm glad that the Walmart's in North Carolina no longer sell fish

walmart in winnipeg near me also stopped selling fish, i cheered when i found out.
