Well, my Goldfish had a lump about the same as that, and all I did was wait a couple days and it disappeared. It's a good picture, but I couldn't tell you.
All I can say is try a water change.

Lumps can sometimes go on there own but if the burst they infect the tank. Its best to issolate if you can.

1st thing i did when i saw it was an extra water change. i always do weekly w/c of at least 40% anyway. i have bought some of the med you suggested and i am now treating my whole tank with it and keeping my fingers crossed.

have a quick look on ebay Mark, even if you have to set the tank up in the kitchen for a wee while ( used to have mine on the kitchen floor)
its really worth having one, maybe hes been nipped? im no pro on illnesses i go with wilders advice everytime

im sure he`ll be fine, but have a look for that tank.. go for anything that looks clean on the inside.. no meds stains (blue) on the sealant ( always puts me off)

Sorry to hear Vinny is unwell

Just wanted to say that one of my baby green sevs had one of these on his anal fin a little while ago. At first I thought it was a fungus of some sort so tried an API liquid fungus cure which did diddly squat, and then another lump appeared!!! Tried anti-internal too but didn't make any real difference. As a sort of last resort before hitting the more heavy meds, I dosed with Pimafix, and I am pleasantly surprised. I dunno whether they were coming to an end anyway, but a 7 day course has really helped. Fingers crossed, it's clearing up and gradually getting smaller. It may be worth a shot - the way you describe the lump makes it sound similar to the one my sev had - almost waxy and smooth.

Hey mark, only just seen this thread, hows he doing?

Terminator sometimes gets small white spots like that on his anal fins, often makes me think oh heck, white spot, but it isnt, after a few days, they seem to disappear - strange as no other fish gets them.

im happy to report today that he seems to be on gthe mend. have dosed with interpet anti intgernal bacteria med and looking in tank this morning the lump is deffinately a hell of a lo smaller. in fact id go as far as saying its shrunk by a good 50% . im breathing a lot easier now lol.
