Well I know my angelfish seem to take nipping at each other the prime activity when passing time during meals. All thier fins are flayed and ragged. I was wondering if this is just all the constant nipping or fin rot? Any solutions I should look in to about the nipping or helping their fins look better?

I also have a pleco in the tank and he doesn't show any finrot.

pH is around 6.8

You should look into separating them.. if they keep nipping each other, and your water quality gets bad, chances are it will turn into fin rot, or some other disease.

If it's the 6 angels in the 30 gallon in your profile, some nipping is going to happen. This is a good setup for a pairing situation, once a pair forms some fish are going to hate to be rehoused. 6 adults won't work in a 30, it took a year of switching fish for me to get 7 compatable angels in a 65.

At the very least, get a divider.

To divide some of them up.. they're most likely just going to nip each other to death in a tank that small.. A divider might just keep the less dominant ones alive.

You really need a larger tank, or to get rid of most of the angels.

The divider is going to help when you do get a pair, which sounds like it could be soon. Angels are new world cichlids, if you get a pair in that tank you will see more than fin nipping on the other 4. The pair goes on 1 side, the other 4 go on the other, while you set up a 20 tall at the very least for the pair.

If you aren't going to get a tank for the eventual pair, you may as well get rid of some of the angels, before the pair decide which ones need to go.
