I went a way for a couple days, came home last night and found that my vt boy, Landon, is horribly sick!!! He was fine when I left!! Now he has fungus everywhere, red streaking common with septecemia, and ICH, hes really bad off. I don't know if I can save him but I have to try! Medicines I have on hand include, fungus ease, aquari-sol, melafix, triple sulfa, and edible bacterial and parasite pellets. I can get to a LFS today though if I need anything else. Please help me help him!! Any advice would be great!!

Ohh ouch!!! I hope he's going to be okay! If it was that sudden, did you do anything different before you left this morning? (Change his water and forget to use a decholorinator? Use cleaning products around his tank? Or was there a huge teperature change?)

Those are my guesses. My first guess would be to change his water, and aclimate him to the new water (in case something bad got in the old stuff) And add some Stress Coat and if he really does have ick some Ick Guard...

The aquari-sol might be the same as Stress Coat...

Oh and if there's any decorations/plants etc in his tank...take those out....

Those are my guesses...

Good Luck!!!

His tank was closest to the window, hes my desk buddy, all of the other fish were on the other side of the room, and where I wasn't there to keep and eye on the temp in the room, there could have been a draft, that would make sense.

I personally would keep any fish away from a window. Including Betta's. It's just a rule of thumb.

Short on time, so this will be rushed. 100% WC w/slow, careful acclimation, add an aerator, heater (if he doesn't allready have one and if the tank is less than 75 degrees), and a medicinal dose of aquarium salt (or sea salt/non-iodized salt). Stress Guard or another slime coat promoting medicine would be wise to add as well. I'm concerned that the "fungus" is probably not fungus, but flexibacter, as fungus seldom grows on anything but wounds. That, and septicemia is blood poisoning, and I wouldn't be shocked if he had a massive gram-negative infection going on. So, treat with an anti-biotic for gram negatives - triple sulfa is supposed to work nicely according to the representative at AP - in addition to some kind of Ich cure. If willing to eat, feed an anti-bacterial food. I'll be in late tonight to check this topic and see how treatment is going and to see if there are any new symptoms. Good luck!

Aquar-i-Sol is an anti parasitic. It is a mild med used to treat new fish for any possibility of ich and in early ich infections. You can try it on the ich. If it is not strong enough you can switch later to a stronger ich med.

He wasn't next to the window, he was just the closest to it, so I was saying it was a possibility.

Yesterday I started him on ICH guard, triple sulfa, fungus ease and non-iodized salt. his tank has a new heater and is sitting at 78 degrees, I also gave him an air stone. The "fungus" is much better today, only a small bit on his dorsal fin, yesterday morning he was covered in it. The septecemia isn't any worse, but not any better either, and the ICH has definitly decreased now, I can only see it on his tail. He also seems to have a bit more energy, so fingers crossed!!
