Very Stange Indeed!

Something very odd has happened, i have had this tank running for some months now and have always been able to see through the filter casing (small fluval 1) and could see the build up of grot forming on the filter, weekly it got browner and browner and grottier and grottier (as you would expect). but yesterday i looked at it and it is SPOTLESS, clean, no one has cleaned it and i havent added anything to the tank!?!?!?! just been doing normal 20% weekly water changes and adding the reccomended de-chlorinator and bacteria boost to the new water.

why on earth would this happen? the tank and its inhabitant and all very healthy. Did i clean it in my sleep?? i think not, how weird.

Any snails in the tank that could have gone in and cleaned it for you? Assuming they would want to eat that gunk

bacteria boost to the new water.

Have not got a clue as gunk cant dissapear! But save your money on the useless products they really dont do anything the bacteria will live in your media etc and will be just enough for the stock you have. Add more fish more bacteria will grow remove fish some will die off. No point adding products like this to tanks there just gimmicks mate.

yeah loads of snails but how would they fit into a fluval 1?
