i just noticed today that there is a new baby platy in my tank (of 4 females, but we'll have to just assume someone was pregnant before i got them!)
at the same time i noticed that one of the platys looked really sick. she almost looks bent a little and her belly is sunken in too. she isn't eating, is spending her time at the bottom of the tank and is wiggling around a lot. it's really sad.
yesterday she was eating normally and i don't know which of the 4 platys had the baby!
some info:
Tank size: 10g
pH: 7.6
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 80
tank temp: 76
Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): listed above
Volume and Frequency of water changes: changed about 80% 2 weeks ago because of higher ammonia and nitrate levels.
Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: no additives, have a tetra filter with a sponge in it as well as the regular bag of carbon. water flow is good.
Tank inhabitants: 3 other female platys, some live, some plastic plants
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): none
Exposure to chemicals: none
