can two different kinds of damsels around the same size be housed together in a 10 gallon?

depends on the type, many will kill eachother, or get to large for a 10 gallon

I'm sorry. I have another question.
Would there be much difference in behavior between a three and four striped damsel?

Unfortunately, no... these two species can become very aggressive (amoung the worst for a damsel) and large, too. Best stick with two smaller/wimpier ones...

If you upgrade the tank to a 20 or 30 gallon, you could keep a group of Blue Devils (Chrysiptera cyanea). Dazzling colours and if they bred (more than likely) it would make a very interesting display.

Thank you. Which Damsel would you suggest for a ten gallon?
Unfortunately I can't upgrade right now. Maybe next year.

You could try to keep the three stripe/four stripe together, but make sure to have a place to take one if they should fight. :good:

I wouldn't even consider getting damsels apart from maybe the green chromis. In general they are the most annoying little b@$t@rds who pick on other fish. I have a blue devil damsel which came with my tank. Every time I put my hand in there to do something, he comes tearing out the rocks and bites me.

I now have running battles with him and flick my fingers at him when he does it. He know's who boss, but he still gives it the large. Go for something more peaceful and socialable.

Hmm, in a little 10g tank.... False Percula clownfish, gobys, firefish, You really cant go wrong with a pair of nemos.
