Well, George had a very bad case of columnaris. After various medications that were tried (Aquarisol, Pimafix, Myacin), he finally responded to tetracycline. After one course it was still visibly there. After second course it seemed to be gone, so I quit medication and took out added aeration, but after 48 hours I can already see beginnings of white fuzz building up again.

Should I just do one more run of tetra cycline? Two more? Anything else/stronger I should try? I never tried Myacin 2. Don't know if this would make a difference. Any suggestions?

try half tetracyline & half myxazin p for coldwater tanks. I use myxazin p for my tropical tanks and I put it in last night & already my columnaris suffering fish is showing about 40% less fuzzy white stuff than last night :D

Hey, thanks for the tip. Do you think you could maybe also advise tabbycat89? Her post is several down from me. I suggested to her to post here as nobody on the betta forum knew what to do. She posted a while ago, but nobody is answering ... : (

Do another round of tetracycline. But it does wipe beneifcal bacteria out in the filter.
Don't mix meds like myxazin by waterlife with the tetracycline.
Do you mean myxazin or maracyn.

Size of tank in gallons or litries.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Temp of tank.

Hello, Wilder!

It took me a little to get back to you... It turned out that I was actually totally wrong. Upon closer inspection I found that the white stuff I saw was actually regrowth, not another outbreak of columnaris.

I really wanted to show you some good photos, but my husband has not been able to find the charger to the large camera for a month now, so these will have to do.
