I just lost my second betta to Velvet. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have read on here so many times that this is an easy disease to get rid of, but it just doesn't seem to work for me. I did daily water changes, raised the temp to 86F, and covered the hospital tank to keep light out, added 2 teaspoons of salt, and cleaned the tank with each change. This time I tried Super Velvet 2, but it didn't seem to do any good. I'm so sorry Red!!!! :rip: little buddy.

sorry for your loss. i lost my first betta to velvet too. i had another one that i think contracted it, and i treated it with aqua-sol. when i did daily water changes, she didnt seem to be getting much better, and i had to leave her over thanksgiving weekend for about 4 days, so i changed her water, added meds, added her, then fed her and left the heater on for the 4 days, and when i came back she was all better! so i dont know, maybe next time try not to change the water so much?

HTHs for future references if you need it (hopefully not)

Coppersafe and Macaryn II in combonation is the best thing to treat velvet with :thumbs:

Sorry for your loss :/

Thanks guys. Hopefully, doubtfully, but hopefully I will never have to go through it again, but if I do, I will keep that in mind. What would be the dosages for Coppersafe and Macaryn II together in a 1 gal? It's always confused me for combining meds if it's full strength for both, or half of each. Oh, and uh, what's HTH mean?

I'd dose as directed on the packaging. Aquarisol is also popular, but personally I'd go for the combo. Velvet starts in the gills and spreads before we can actually diagnose it, so I think it's better to hit it hard from the start -_-

HTH=Hope this helps :)
