Varying the food given to my guppies. Is it recommended?

I have recently set up with some guppies and the tank is now cycled and they are doing great. I have some Fish Science 1mm worm pellets that sink slowly and the 4 guppies seem to be fine with it, they chase it around and eat as you would expect but I know they are mainly top to middle feeders and some of the food sinks down that they pick up over the course of an hour or so.

I wanted to know if you can introduce more than one food type to their diet. For example one day can they have some mini flake food of a good quality and the next be fed the pellets. Basically every other day is a swap between flakes at the top and sinking pellets the following day. Or should they remain on one type?

It's better to give your fish a variety of foods in their diet such as feeding dry foods in one day and frozen the other day. Yes, you can feed flakes for one day and switch to pellets the other day.

Ah brilliant. Thanks for the quick reply. Really appreciated.

Omega One Tropical Flakes and New Life Spectrum, are great brands, both high in nutrition.

I do agree that live bears need some sort of live food mixed into their diet, even if it’s once a week.
