I have some vallis in my tank thats all bunched up together and I want to thin it out a bit and move some to another part of the tank. however I am not sure how to do it as most of it seems to be joined together with stems. Can I just cut the stems and remove the "baby" plant from the "mother" plant.

I need to be careful because vallis and java fern are the only things that seem to survive in my tank
Thanks in advance..

Yep, cut the runners and remove the baby plants. Be prepared for a large tangle of roots!

Thanks, have moved them you were right about the roots!!!! wow. Just hope they still grow!

Yippee they seem to be doing ok. Thanks for the tip vinylman about a few single ones around the tank it looks lots better than it all bunched up.
:good:

No prob, S. Try planting three or four together at one end of the tank and let them grow up and along the top of the water, they look really good the longer they get.

I have split the ones up in my sons tank today, he thinks it looks great. My vallis doesnt get very tall only about 3". I think its the undergravel filter, that or the fish nibble them down lol.
