I just got back from vacation to Reno, NV and we drove up to Crater Lake in Oregon to meet some friends that live near there. All I can say is WOW. We played golf in shorts in Reno one day and the next day at Crater Lake it was 38 degrees with a wind chill in the 20s (and this is June). They still had 6 to 8 foot of snow on the ground in places and the east side of the park was still snowed in and not open. If you're ever in Southeast Oregon, it is well worth the trip but wear warm clothes as 65 degrees is a heat wave there even in the summer.
Here is a link to a good info page on Crater Lake.
And here is a link to a virtual tour I put together of Crater Lake. To view it, simply click the link. Click "Larger View" to see a bigger screen. You can also get thumbnails of the photos by clicking the "Gallery" button. You probably want to do that as there are 50 photos total and you may not want to wait on all of them. Only the first 2 are pannoramas. The rest are just stills.
