This is going on my new tank which is a slow starter volume is 320l And am wanting a smashing skimmer in a fairly tight space. The mce600 does not fit and I may be able to squeeze a v2 800 in there. I want to keep sps and Lps in the end as well as an array of fish so a heavy stocked tank.

I was thinking are there any other good brands like bubble magnus or something?

Please I want a brill skimmer! In a space of 190mm by 290mm by 660mm

I just found a tunze 9011 skimmer for aquariums up to 1100L and an incredibly compact size how do they do it? Is it any good, quite a fan of tunze after my 9002

hey mate how you doin...quick question..i have a 260ltr tank and need a skimmer. Im going to be using a sump tank. Any ideas of the best skimmer for my tank...:p

I had the deltec mc 500 in my sump and I thought it was the bee,s knees till I upgraded to a bubble magus BM 150 pro and well there is just know comparison the bubble magus blows its sock’s off,
So I would say bubble magus every time over the mc500
The only thing I would say though is your properly better off importing one you can get the nac6 and nac7 from the uk for about £160 - £170 price mark but they have the crappie atman pump in them and for a extra £30 or so you can get a BM150 or BM160 pro (£205 imported} and IMO you cannot get a better skimmer for the money
So if you could fit a skimmer outside your sump I would say go with the BM160 pro as it is an external skimmer and runs the aquabee pump
Hope this is of some help john,o

okay will do is this My link over kill? along with my 9002 for reliabilty, i was also looking at the 9021. How do they make such a high rated skimmer a compact size?

Yep don’t get me wrong the deltec mc 500 is a very good skimmer!
If I where you though I would ask if the magnet on the pin wheel is ok {no grooves ect in it} because if this needs replacing you’re looking at £70 and if the pumps goosed £120 +

thanks jono i think i may go with the mc500 due to the price of this one! there also a v600 for £50 but i hear deltec better?

i was thinking that a bigger skimmer would be more effiecient now so an looking at the aquamedic turboflotor sl looks like a great skimmmer and double that of the mc500 tank size....

I have had a turbo floater SL 1000 and IMO it is a very poor skimmer compared to the mc500

kk i sent payment for the mc500 as i here the deltecs are fab! and seems the only decent size for my sump. it it enough umph for a 320L system probably 260 when filled? for sps i hear it should be double the recomended is this the case with deltec?

Very good choice - the Deltec will always be my skimmer of choice :good:

It will be big enough for your tank :D
