V2 400 Skimmer

Have set up my tank 155ltr using a v2 400 skimmer an external canister filter and a seio powerhead. Tank settled down nicely tho possibly bubbles in skimmer a little high, however have added uncured live rock as am going away for a few months shortly but the skimmer seems to be getting a bit to happy and about once a day maybe a litle longer the cup is full is this normal? as the rock has now been in for 3-4 days i am hoping it will calm down? or am i doing something wrong? the skimmer has been skimmer is on minimum

My V2 400 took about 2 weeks to settle in.

I was coming home to full cups of skim and thankfully I have it sump mounted so it wasnt over the floor.

But as I said, after 2 weeks all was well and it now requires emptying once a week.

maybe a stupid question but if the cup over fills does it not then fall back into the skimmer itself as the cone in the cup tops out below the top of the cup itself? (think i confused myself there!). Did ur skimmer gradually settle or did it suddenly start getting better? just really worried about going away now and someone having to come in everyday to keep an eye on it!

finally finding the instuctions i fixed the problem with my skimer as it was shooting water out of the air intake now it is fixed it took about a week to settle in and it seems to be doing fine mine gradually got better over 2 days then it suddenly after a week was working perfectly
also tmc v2 skim 400

I found the solution to mine was to minimise the restriction to the outlet as much as possible this got it working really well.

same here
i aslo played with the intake tube so the water will stay the same level all the time ruling out the risk of flood

r u using the bubble stop? i cant help but think this is causing the water to backup in the outlet thus causing the skimmer to get over happy but not sure if i should remove it incase it causes other problems

leecara how did u manage to do that as the outlet from the pump goes directly tothe v2 intake?did u usea valveorother means?

also are u both dry skimming or wet skimming? as I have noooption but to wet skim until it settles down

and i seem to need to spend some money on a new keyboard (instead of my new setup) as space bar seems not to be working
