I have a fluval 304 and I am considering investing in a uv sterilizer. My tank placement gets direct sunlight. (not by my choosing) so my water has a slightly greenish hue to it. It's has other possible benefits as well but my main goal is my green water. I have a planted tank and do a 12% water change 3-4 times a week and still the water always has free floating algae spores. I have a massive placo and 3 snails for surface stuff, but nothing for free floating. Luckily this is all that happens, never any severe blooms. So my question is what sterilizer would work with the 304 and would this be the best solution to the problem?
I have a 7 inch fire eel, one 9 inch pleco, 3 blue snails. Also 3 small cichlids (keep to themselves) that I am going to remove to stock my tank with something else to keep my eel company.
