Uv Light Steriliser , When ?

im thinking of buying a small uv light sterilizer after several people i know telling me how cheap and effective they are ?


so is there a best time to add one ? my tanks been running for a good 16 weeks now, all my fish are happy and ive lost none .

A UV sterilizer can be useful to treat certain types of health problems in the tank and can be used to remove "green water" algae. It works by killing whatever goes through it so if the thing you are trying to control is in the water rather than other places, it can help with the treatment. Having said that, I do not own one because I have not run into a situation where I expected it to help me. Like you, I have healthy tanks with nothing in particular in the water that I am worried about, so the money has stayed in my pocket and the UV has stayed at the store.
