I have a 90G FOWLR tank and have been keeping with few fish for over a year. Yes i leant my leasson by the hard way..again! Bought a powder blue tang and added it into the main tank without having it in the QT. it got ich and killed few of my fav fishes :(

My question is will adding UV Strilizer help in addition to all other precautions ( believe me i will never skip that QT step)

UV will only KILL if its working what passes through it - a parasite hangs on to the fish will not pass the UV thus a UV controls not cures,,

You need to sort out water if that's a problem, could be stress related and cure the fish ie QTand treat

Adding chemicals to tanks is a very bad idea i think as they effect all sorts of stuff and you can never remove the treatments QT you do as you like of cause ..
 
Very few people manage to keep the pbt, imo its best left to the experts or in the sea :good:
