Using "squeesings"

Don't quite know what you mean, you squeeze old filter sponges onto new ones to get them going, is that what you mean.

If you are adding another filter to the tank, remove the old sponges and place them in a bucket, get the new one's and wet them in tank water, then squeeze the old sponges over the new, then place sponges back in filters.

ooooo i see thanks a lot new tank 2 morrow :D step up from 10 liter hex lol gettin a juwel 120 :D

Ok i see, will you still be running the old tank, if not just place the sponges in the juwel box then, theres plenty of room in there, i have the same tank.
Though keep an eye on stats as you could still go into a mini cycle.

I think ill just keep it simple and cycle from scratch, i dont wanna rush things lol. I recall someone saying dont use dechloranators during cycle, but i thought the chorine would kill the bacteria can someone clear this up :/

Do you mean a fishless cycle.

Definately use your old filter sponge, youd be wasting valuable bacteria! Chuck it in your new filter and your cycle will be much faster!.

Always use dechlorinator, without it youll kill your bacteria (unless you let water sit in a bucket over night)

Are you sure about the letting the water sit overnight part. I am pretty sure that chlorine doesn't dissapear that quick. If it did by the time it reaches your tap from the treatment plant it would be gone already.

Chlorine will gas out, chloramine will not. Most water treatment facilities use chloramine as well as chlorine. Unless you are sure your tap water is treated with only chlorine, use dechlorinator.

Ok thanks for clearing that up.
