I went to my local hardware store to pick up a small sheet of Lexan. It's extremely durable, doesn't yellow, and (big bonus) I can cut it myself. I've done this before to make a lid for a tank I sold on here a while ago. Anyway, this time I noticed on the label that it "blocks harmful UV rays". Great for a window and I would think very beneficial for the fish, especially if I had saltwater and corals.

Why isn't Lexan used more in the aquarium world? Am I missing something?

Most glass and plastics block UV, I'd imagine it's just cheaper to use the glass or acrylic for tank building.

Tank building is one thing. I just meant for the lid/cover and/or cover for the lighting.
