Yes, it fine to use fry for feeder fish. Some people don't like it, some people raise fry just to be used as feeder fish. It depends. But generally, yes, it's okay.
They'll be pretty healthy for the fish to eat as long as they don't have a disease. They don't have much nutrients, though, I don't think.
Can I just ask why you want to use them as feeder fish? Do you have too many fry, or something?
i don't have TOO many fry , it's just that my fish love them and i was thinking if i have xtra i might as well let my fish enjoy them.
just wasn't sure if they were ok to feed.
I sometimes feed molly fry to my bettas. I don't like doing it but I can't raise all the fry and if I leave them in the tank they dont get eaten by the other mollies
and contrary to popular belief i would say they are very nutrituous...not only do the fish get the thrill of the chase, but if you gutload the fry before feeding (like you would a ghost shrimp) they can be very nutritous
its too many feeder goldfish that are bad for fish; goldfish have a pretty high fat content compared to most fish. as for nutritional value, the reason feeder guppies from the store are that great is the profit margin is nearly non-existant (10 for $10) so to save further cash, store-bought feeders aren't fed very well, if at all.
