i am planning on using filter aid to clear my cloudy tank at the moment, now when ever you use any treatments you are advised to remove the carbon filter from the filter....
is this the same for filter aid?,just checking because it doesn't say so on the instructions, any other treatment i have used has advised me to....

Hi,
I didn't when I used it, and it worked very well.
Hope this helps

I WOULD remove carbon filter as Filter Aid thickens up the fine particles that make your water cloudy and in doing so it makes a bit of a sludgy mess in your filter. This will very quickly block up the very fine holes in the carbon rendering it useless :good: My logical opinion therefore others may disagree :good:
PS. They instruct you to remove the carbon filter when adding medications as the carbon will filter them straight back out

Remove the carbon filter media, permanently. Only needed to remove medication. Replace the carbon media with filter floss, capable of fine filtering/polishing. Don't use the precipitant chemical, it is NOT needed. Just enhance your mechanical filtration with floss.
