I am doing a bulk order from a US company for medications that are unavailable over here. As the airmail is expensive, the more people who order stuff, the cheaper the posting becomes for everyone.

Lightweight items which seem the best to buy are:

MARCYN 1 & MARACYN 2
Maracyn is a broad-spectrum, nontoxic antibiotic tablet used for body fungus, popeye, fin and tail rot, gill disease and secondary infections. Ok to use with filters. Maracyn-two is a broad-spectrum antibiotic (minocycline) tablet used for popeye, fin and tail rot, gill disease, dropsy, septicemia, secondary and internal infections.

Maracyn 1 FW x 24 tablets $8.96 - £5 ish
Maracyn 1 FW x 100 tablets $33.71 - £17.50
Maracyn 2 FW x 24 tablets $9.12 - £5
Maracyn 2 FW x 100 tablets $34.56 - £18

Maracyn 1 SW x 16 tablets $11.69 - £6
Maracyn 1 SW x 100 tablets $61.14 - £32
Maracyn 2 SW x 16 tablets $12.24 - £6.50
Maracyn 2 SW x 100 tablets $65.16 - £34

If I get enough orders for 24's of things I will buy the 100's and split them (photocopying instructions etc) and this will cut down on cost even more.

MAROXY
Antifungal medication
Maroxy FW Antifungus x 16oz $25.07 - £13
Maroxy SW Antifungus x 4oz $8.51 - £4.50

JUNGLE PARASITE CLEAR
Clears external and internal parasites. No need to raise the water temperature. Also helps prevent secondary infections and will not harm biological filtration. The fizz lets you know it's working! 1 tablet per 40 litres.

8 tablets $2.63 - £1.50

PEPSO ANTI INTERNAL PARASITE MEDICATED FOOD
Special formulation designed to be fed to tropical fish showing signs of internal parasites such as weight loss or loss of appetite. Great for new fish to ensure digestive tracts are free of parasites. Details: Feed to all fish to clean them out internally. Use for three days, then return to a normal diet. May be fed once weekly on a regular basis.

1oz $1.99 - £1

If people can PM me with what they want and paypal the money for the items to me at SarahBravo67@hotmail.com, I will contact you when they arrive with me and you can then paypal me the shipping charges and I will post them out first class to you. I am aiming to put the order in next Tuesday. Remember, the more that's ordered the cheaper the shipping will become!

Thanks! I miiight ask for some Marcyn 2. It seems very handy... Any spares can be sold on Ebay, I'm sure a lot of UKpeople will want them.

Most of the active ingredients, or equivalents, in those things are available in the UK. They require a vet's prescription now though, (never used to be the case - law changed about 15 years back).

I say this just so that you are aware, you could be in breach of UK/EU law by importing these things without appropriate licences.

That's what i was thinking to lateral line as with have strict regilations, but there are some ways round it like using our antibiotics but you have to no what you are doing.

Exactly. Indiscriminant and inappropriate use of anti-biotics can create big problems. A lot of pathogens that used to be treated with AB's are now resistant to them. The more exposure an eco-system has to an AB, the sooner resistant strains arise. This is the problem with MRSA now, it is really difficult to find an AB that will kill some infections.

A lot of the regulations were introduced to try to stop overuse of certain classes of medication - this I support.

What the vet's did though, (through their professional association), was added a whole series of other medications that are not an issue to the "prescriptions only" list. Since they will not issue a prescription without seeing the "patient", you have to pay for the consultation AND the prescription AND the drug. To this day, I believe they put as much on the list as possible to boost their incomes.

I agree with you both - antibiotics should be used as a very last resort and then only after careful consideration. However, when it is the last resort the wait to order them from the US can mean they arrive too late for the fish. I would prefer to have them in my cupboard and never use them.

I have looked into the legal side of it and am happy that one box of antiobiotics in relatively small quantities will not cause any problems. I can order viagra (just as an example) and all sorts of drugs over the net, I don't think the authorities will worry about 'personal use' quantities of fish drugs.

I am placing the order Tuesday, if anyone wants anything let me know ASAP, as the postage costs decrease dramatically when more people order.

>>> I can order viagra (just as an example) and all sorts of drugs over the net,

So can I here, (10 - 15 spam e-mails a day offering them), but if the customs open it and find it contains listed medicines/drugs, they will confiscate it and I will be fined. Customs are more inclined to investigate small packages from outside the EU.

Just a heads up.
