HELP!!!!

Im in sheffield and if the dam bursts in rotherham, which is next to 2 important power cables (station) it will destroy the power for atleast 2 days! What to do for my fish?? GOD HELP ME!!!!!!!

couldnt really say thats a major bummer..god speed......hopefully they will do what they did here acouple of years ago where they literrally share the electric....we had a massive fire which destroyed the main power cables and for three days they shared out the electric for one hour gaps then you lost it for 3 vhours then back again for 1hour....and so on.....all lfs suffered no losses as neither did i........

hope it all goes well for you mate :good:

watching on channel4 news now, they reckon that the water is now lowering after they have been pumping it out. hopefully all will be OK.

In case of a power lose, you can do water changes to keep ammonia levels down. Keep your filter media wet to prevent the bacteria from dying. Dip water from the tank and pour it back in to help add oxygen to the water. Goldlenny (a member) lives near New Orleans and kept his tanks going for a couple weeks after Katrina.

if the water is getting too cold, but bottles of warm water in, or you can stick those human heat packs on the sides for a little time.

This time of year, it's more likely the water will get hot instead of cold with no power to cool the house.

haha, its freeeeezing here at the momnet. The great british summer.

I understand that summers can be un-warm there. San Fransicso in the US is the same way. At least, there aren't as many problems associated with water that is too cool as there is with water that is too warm. Higher water temperatures mean lower O2 levels in the water and fish gasping at the surface for air.

how many tanks and what sie are they?

get some heat packs off ebay and if it happens and you loose electricity then open them up activate them place in a fish bag tie it up and put it floating in the tank, the average temp of these are 26 degrees so it should do you ok, each pack lasts 24 hours. and the water changes/testing will help big time as well.

the UK is expecting 3" of rain tonight and more over the days to come and the news tonight has said that the pumps they are using will not cope with this water that will reach these areas in 48 hours time, hopefully not the dam though
