Hi fish lovers,
as I've been anouncing for ages, tomorrow if finally the day I'm buying my new real tank.
I now have a 2,5 gallon plastic tank with Casper, my betta, in it and I'm upgradding for a 13 gallon glass tank with all equipment necessary.
The basic equipment I'm buying such as heater and filter are the ones they have in the shop at the moment.
The heater is this one right here , which is the only one they have that fits my tank size, the only brand available also.
The filter may be either this or this one.
I will also be buying some natural colored gravel and one of those magnet algae remover things.
Later on I'll be buying LED strip lighting and possibly some deco if everything fits on my budget.
I'm also including some water products such as Nutrafin Aqua Plus (tap water conditioner) and Nutrafin Cycle, and a thermometer.
When everything is in place and once I get more money to create a new budget, I will buy drift wood, live plants, more decoration and hopefully more fish.
Does this sound like a good plan? Are this good choices for my equipment?
If anyone could help me with these question asap I would be very thankful.
It's all on the edge of the time, I'm sorry but I need opinions.
Thanks so much!

I believe that's all you'll need.
The heater looks fine, but not sure on the filters. Is the fluval one an internal? I'd go with the HOB just so I can have more space in the tank.
Are you going to be fishless cycling the tank or..? I'm not sure if Nutrafin Cycle is one of the products that work in helping with this, but even so would think you'd still need ammonia.

I'd try to get the thermometer in your first round as well just so you can make sure the heater is at an accurate temperature.

Congrats on getting the new tank!
That equipment looks good!

Unless you already have, don't bother buying the nutrafin cycle, it doesn't do much, and although some have had success with it, most of us haven't.

What other fish do you want to have in with Casper?

Your list looks good, agree with Ninjouzata that a HOB might be better if you want more space inside the tank, the U1 is an internal, a fairly decent one but due to size of tank, HOB will give more swimming space inside.

If you are planning on doing a fishless cycle, then a read of this if you have not done so already might help

And also agree Nutrafin Cycle is not the best really, have a look at the bacteria starters as there is Dr Tim's One and Only or Tetra Safe Start which are a better bet than the Nutrafin. Also you'll need some ammonia if you doing the fishless cycle route.
