Urgent: Pictus Catfish

The barb on the pectoral fin of my pictus catfish has somehow penetrated into the side of his body!
The skin has slightly regrown over the fin tip, i've tried to remove barb but with no luck!

Anybody got any suggestions on what i should do?

Wow; that's an unusual one and something I've never heard of before.

If it won't come out easily I think you sohuld probably leave it; the only alternative would be to cut the barb off, but if it won't pull out, I'm not sure what you'd gain tbh.

it may be better to leave it in to stop the risk of infection

Yeah, it's happened on both sides but one side has managed to come free leaving abit of a cut that doesnt look too bad atm!
I did try remove the stuck fin but it wouldn't budge so i left it,
the pictus didnt struggle or anything so shouldn't be in too much pain.

make sure you get some melafix to stop infection. keep up on water changes too.
