My plattys all have white spot, now i have a pleco in the tank will he be ok with the meds?

Now I know I need to remove the carbon while I treat the tank but the filter media if filled with carbon my husband bought the terta easycrystal with carbon so it is inside the media I prefer the simple one

BTW tank stats are good at 0, 0, 5 so I'm not overly worried its the pleco and the carbon.

Don't worry to much with the carbon, Which treatment do you have?
if you just have the platies and a pleco then any meds should be fine
Also gradually increase the temp in the tank to around 83F

I have fin rot and fungus controll in I might be able to get to pets at home late tonight if needs be, I could curse at they were all fine at 8am this morning when I went to the pet store.

I also have stress coat, safe water and nitrate down in my box of tricks.

I just always worry as I know some meds can't be used with scaless fish like plecos.

Ive found protozin treatment by waterlife works best especially if you leave carbon in. You need to use the right med for each disease cos if it doesnt work youll lose all your fish.

unless its an exotic pleco speces i wouldn't worry at all, stick to the required dose and everything should be ok,

fin rot and fungus control may work but you really need something specific to whitespot, if your in the UK then WS3 is possibly the best choice although protozin, and interpets or king british white spot control should all do the job.

Do you know the water parameters? (ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)
