Hello all,

I have a fighter fish in a tank of a small community of fish of 6 in just over a 50L tank which is well kept and monitored.
Recently my Fighter Fish has been behaving really off and sitting at the bottom of the tank being really weak.
I started to notice changes to the fighter fishes condition including;
1. Losing his redness
2. Face blowing up like a bubble
3. Stomach area going twice the size.
4. eyes glazed over

This was after a few days of behavioral change, i have taken him to a fish store who said it wasnt dropsy it was just bacteria so he gave me a product
called eSHa 2000 which helps with fungus, fin rot and bacteria. This is a 3 day treatment.

This is before i took him the fish store:

I started the treatment as soon as i could when i got back from the fish store. Ive come back to the tank today to find the fish in a worse state and has now totally lost the red from his body which has turned white. His face and body are extremely swollen still. Ive added todays treatment to the water.

Here are pictures from today;

I feel like i am being cruel to the fighter but im trying all i can to help him. He is currently at the top of the tank behind the filter just resting with slow movement. He rarely comes from behind it into the open.

General info;
50L
feed every other day
water change every week (10-25%) dependant on water quality
Been running for a few months
Im new to tropical fish
Sand at the bottom of the tank with plants.

Fish;
2 mollies
2 plecos
1 red tail shark
1 fighter fish

Any help on this would be good as for one i dont want to lose him and two i dont want my other fish at risk.

Thanks
Adam

Update:

My Fighter fish has just sadly passed away:

i would still like some help and advice so i can keep my other fish healthy

thanks

Your tanks overstocked.
Can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrare, and ph.

The red tailed shark should be kept in a least a 40 gallon tank.
They are aggressive fish and will nip the fins of other fish.

Are eyes bulging out?
Are scales sticking out?

Epson salt baths to help draw the fluids out.
Feed some shelled frozen peas.
