Hi, I have just rescaped my small tank (see signiture) ready for a betta next week. The tank is well cycled and has been home to 4 pigmy cory 3 lilac spot cory (stay small) and endler/guppy.

The endler/guppy have been rehoused in my larger tank but I am not sure about the corys? Obviously I need to have something in the tank to keep it cycled but they are a devil to re-catch! Especially now as heavily planted

Question.....will the cory be ok tank mates to a CT Betta (if I can find one!) or what? I need to know right now as the cory are in a bag

I should think that they will be fine, i have the pygmy cory in with mine. The only time you will have problems is if you have an over agressive male.

Good luck in finding one and be sure to post pic when you do :good:

Hi and thanks for the quick imput. The overhead (modified) filter system has been working well so bioload isn't a problem it's just compatability that worries me.
As you can see in the sig. the scape is c**p coupled by the fact that you hardly see the corys in daytime and endlers....well you know!

Came up with the Betta idea but really want to keep the cory. So you reckon they'll get on ok?

Will be posting a photo of the set-up to check it's ok later (Tall grassy, like rice sort of thing) but unsure when I will be able to find the perfect CT. Round here they just seem to stock blue fighters but I want to be a little different!

You could always buy your CT online, works out a bit more pricey but usually worth it.

Endlers would most likely cause trouble with a Betta but corys will be fine, allot of betta keepers have the in there tanks to clean up uneaten betta pellets. I even have them in with fry in my growout tanks. Plus as you say they stay out of the way most of the time so its un likely you will have trouble.

And FYI i think your tank looks fine, a Betta will finish it perfectly :good:

Yup, the tank is great but it was really rubbish inside  If you hang around a bit I will do a photo of it now....it's not settled yet but you'll get the picture so to speak ;)

This is the tank now, just completed 5 minutes ago! Got a bit of growing to do, what do you think?

Thats a log between the front and rear plants for the cory.

I think it will look fab, even better when it grows in. I always think sand makes such a lovely job of things

Will look stunning when plants have filled out
i think it looks great, nice to have sand as it will enhance a betta, the cories should be ok if they are not juvi pygmys, my male ate 4 in one night that were juvis

Your tank looks great and will be even better when things get growing :good:
