Upside Down Catfish When Idle

I've got five beloved upside down catfish, but sometimes I kinda worry about their idle "sleeping" behavior during the day time. I understand they're nocturnal, and they swim upside down, but sometimes they just look so... Dead.

They all have the non stressed, deep brown hue to them, and while some of them seem to cling to the bottoms of leaves and decorations, two of them every morning return to the same spots every day, one of them lays on the substrate rather oddly, and the other wedges itself in a corner of the plastic driftwood.

I'm assuming I'm just over reacting, but it does seem a little off for them to do this when the others show more "typical" behavior.

Is there any room for concern, here? that just have a couple catfish with a different method of rest than the others? I know they're not dead, as they also seem to defend these spots of theirs from the other upside down catfish if they come by. Not to mention they turn a milky white color under stress, (At least, that's what I've come to the conclusion of) and neither of them are showing this color.

Can anyone tell me where their upside downs go during the day? What position they rest in?

Sounds very much like my group of nine, roosting in all sorts of different places around the tank. These fish are quite possibly the group that did not meet my expectations the most, they were shy as a group of three, then four and now having had nine for about six months it is still status quo. Granted, they often scurry around the tank floor at feeding time, but I expected them to all roost together and school around the tank together during late evening. Maybe they do in the pitch black, but sadly I've yet to see them do this in the 4-foot.

Mine school around later at night, but I only see them when the moon lights are on. I went for them because I read that corydoras may be picked on by tiger barbs. But synodontis in general seem to be ready and willing to hold their own, so I assumed they'd be more inclined to bicker back at nippy barbs.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the upside downs, they're a bit less active than I thought they'd be, but they're still quite lovely and adorable

I've been thinking about getting some upside-downs myself Do you know if they get along with corydoras? (It's good to know about their behavior, though, this has been a helpful thread thus far.)
