Hi ive had goldfish for like 6 years and now im getting tropical fish. Im getting a 90liter tank (about 24 gallons)
and i was wondering if anyone has advice for me. I was thinking of getting some neons (10), angels (2) and catfish(2). Are these a good combination or will something bad happen.

All help appreciated

The two angels will probably get too big for that tank and you have to be careful with the cats but you could always get cories and they are great and fun fish to watch. The neons would be better suited after your tank has been established for 4 or 5 months since they are so sensative. But you have a lot of options with a 24 gallon. I am not too familiar with angels and their might be smaller species but I know some get to be 6'' and can be agressive.

well firstly for the most part angels and neons don't mix. Small fish get eaten by big fish if you catch my drift! Eeek. Plus, 24G unless it is very tall is a little too small for angels. But, you still have room for a nice centerpiece fish - alot of people like the gourami's as a nice centerpiece fish.
I like your idea of a larger school of small tetras, but neons are fairly sensitive due to overbreeding, so you may want to look into a different species of tetra. Catfish probably wouldn't work in a 24G either unless you are talking about cory cats... if that's the case you could get a nice shoal of 6-8 at the bottom and possibly a few ottos or a small plec for algae control.

yeah ive done some more research and decided on about 10 lemon tetras 5or6 zebra danios and 2 dwarf gouramis is this a good combo or not

I think what you just decided on is a great combination. I do just want to give you a bit of warning for algae eaters. If you go with a Pleco they get big. Sometimes up to 2 feet. They sell them when they are 3 inches and it is a common misconception that they will stay small. I started with Zebra Danios they are neat. I love Cory's they are my favorite fish. Have fun and goodluck.

ok thanks everyone is there any good weed types i should get as well as snails of SMALL catfish

another thing what chemicals willi need to buy and what should my ph level be

Well I know that there are real catfish, but I don't know much about them. Corys are a form of catfish and all are pretty small. The biggest they get usually is like 2.5 inches.

Umm... Snails are cool but get the right ones. Some how i think from live plants I got Pond Snails in my tank... They reproduced like rabbits! SNAILS EVERYWHERE! So well i fixed that problem and I got a really neat Gold Mystery Snail. They do a pretty good job cleaning. As you can see in my picture next to my post they are neat looking and when they do lay eggs if they do lay eggs its a nice big clutch of redish eggs. So you cant miss them and you can easily remove them from your tank. Definatly check into Mystery Snails there are Blue, Black, Gold, and Ivory Varieties.

Can't help much with plants

That sounds good. Remember not to add them all at once and a few at a time.

You can also get dwarf plecs like bristle nose plecs or clown plecs. Im after a clown plec but there arent any local to me. They grow about 5" max.

Corys are great additions to have. I have a group of 4 now (1 died) and they are real characters, help keep your gravel clean aswell.
