So I have finally set up my second tank, this time a glass 10gal.

Oliver and my clown pleco are staying in the 5gallon and are doing well on their own right now.
I've moved my two corydoras (panda and julii) into the 10gal and picked up a peppered and emerald cory to join them. They're swimming around together and starting to shoal together which has been quite adorable to watch- going to pick some more up when I get my paycheck (and get some more plants).

The big aponogeton I have is still in my 5 gallon, but it's hard to see- it's next to the wood. It went through a shedding period where all of it's leaves but like 3 died off, they're growing back now albeit slowly. Can't wait for it to fill out- I miss it constantly flowering and it's big wavy leaves.... Going to get some rocks soon to put into the 5gal again, not liking the giant blank space I have in front.... thinking of replanting the elodea in the 5 gallon, I miss having it (tossed it into a small tank to recuperate after it was having root issues in the main tank, those problems are now fixed.)

I'm going to have a betta join the cories in the 10gal... I'm interested in getting a fancier type.. probably a halfmoon. Any US betta breeders here on the forum?

Picture time!

New tank! There is elodea planted behind the wood, just can't see it from this angle.

Congrats on the tanks and betta hon they look fab!

p.s. not to worry you but on 6th pic down does he have a bit of a tear or hole in his back fin or has it always been like that? Nothing to worry about as clean water heals betta fins just thought should mention x

Thanks guys!

Hoping I can find a betta breeder here in the US soon... really want to get my centerpiece fish in! ;)

lilacamy, he gets them sometimes... they usually heal in a few days and haven't caused me any grief yet. I figure he snags it on a plant or something. Thanks for letting me know though, I appreciate the thought!

how long are you willing to wait.
i have a nice electric blue feather-tail that im looking for a female for. if i find one in a reasonable time, ill let u know.
the tanks look great.
for the 5 gal. get some vallis to mix with the elodea. will look really nice in there, and is just as easy. inexpensive too.
the cories are cuties. i like the mix.
an Oliver...OH oliver :) glad to see him looking so handsome!
looking forward to more threads about these tanks :)
cheers

Ooh he sounds lovely. How long in total do you think the wait would be? PM me.
Thumbs up on the plant suggestion- will look for some.
Thanks for all the compliments! I've been working hard on making everything as perfect as I can. :)

So I went to Petco today to pick out some more food for my catfish when I instinctively went to the betta section to see what they had.

Long story short, got charmed by a little steel blue halfmoon (his head and body and most of his tail/fins are steel blue and they gradient out to transparent) and just *had* to get him. He's in the 10gal right now, exploring.

He's fairly small- is that normal? I'm assuming he's pretty young. Pictures soon, but finals are killing my time right now so not yet. Need to figure out a name for him..... :D

Bump for breeders?

If you are still interested I don't ship in the winter, but I will have some new stock come end of march april to send out. I guess the best question would be to ask what are you looking for Halfmoons, Double tail, delta, sd ???

wisper me if you are interested not sure on shipping costs though think its something like $25-30 to the usa and not sure about wildlife inspection

The moment you've been waiting for: the big reveal!

Here he is! (Sorry it's a little blurry)

Flaring time. First time he's flared and attacked his reflection at the same time.

Beautiful fish and beautiful tank. Although I really like planted tanks, I also like tanks with just some rocks and wood like yours. Simple and natural. Good luck with the fish :good:
