Oscar when i first got it - about year and half ago:

Here's some of my oscar after a tank move back into the 4x2x2 tank, now sharing with a Dat Campbelli and a couple of rope fish.

I do oftern wonder why it doesn't grow much , it's got a good diet and has never been in a small or over crowded tank. maybe it's just a dwarf

Very pretty, but he is not very deep in the body either although anything looks slim compared to my fatty Chops

nope looked and acted like all the other ones, he/she is wild caught so not sure if it's possible just the area it came from.

I suspect he's got intestinal parasites, which would account for slow growth and his slim profile.
Can't hurt to treat with some flubendazole ... it can work wonders !

I've not thought about that, presume it will have no side affects if it doesnt have internal parasites?

Gorgeous fish, I love Oscar's and if I ever setup another tropical tank will defo be getting another one.
