Yeah, I know it's hard to see the fish, and I know it's fish you guys are really into, but hopefully they'll have lotsa babies and I'll have more of 'em soon.

Know what's cool? There are only 2 males in this tank, while the pic shows 3. So one of them was digitally drawn in! Can you guess which one . . . ? :shifty:

The foreground is a species of moss. :)

I'll give the answer on the digitally edited one after more people guess

Uhhh thats not really correct. There are many things you have to do when setting up a planted tank....fluorescent lighting, fertilizers, co2, etc. It's not really that easy and costs quite a bit of money... I'm sure someone else can elaborate as I'm just a beginner myself.

This is actually a pretty simple set up. I bought a fixture by Kotobuki that my LFs sell (they sell lots of weird asian products, weirdos . . .) that houses a 13w pc bulb. Then I just do low light plants-- crypts, ferns, mosses, anubias. Filtration is a simple HOB filter similar to a penguin filter. Substrate is florite. Plants do well w/o CO2 or ferts.

However, this tank is about to get super nuts because I did this:

So now this tank has HIGH light instead of LOW light, and I'll probably have to rip out a lot of plants for faster growing ones to use the light, plus I have to add C02 and stard dosing ferts-- but I'll get to grow so many awesome plants!! Can't wait! :)

I'm going to have a huge piece of wood covered with riccia, move all my glosso and hair grass from my other tank, and move over a bunch of stem plants too . . . oh yah!
