Hi y'all

My tank has cycled exceptionally well, the advice I got on here to replace all useless media with bacteria spnges has certainly helped!
I had a go at adding live plants, but they prove to be hard work, and it's difficult to find any that will thrive under my lighting.
I had to take them out as my tank was disagreeing with them quite heftily.
I have aquascaped with plastic ones, and the result looks almost as good as with the real ones, although they don't move as much.
I also added 5 zebra danios on saturday, and they are having a good time so it seems.
I was a bit woried at first, as they were all hanging round by the side, and they seemed very stressed. I realised soon that it was the mirrored sides that were attracting them, and they are now very happily swimming just about anywhere.
The practically eat out of my hand already, so no moving house streeses for them I assume!
They are very active little critters, and I can watch them play in the filter flow for hours!

I am adding some more fish over the next few weeks, but I'm not sure which ones. The silver shark was high up on my list but I have seen some at the pet shop in a 450 liter tank, and they were quite big so I don't think my tank is a suitable environment.
Maybe a red tail shark would be better?

I would also like an Angelfish, but any suggestions you may have are most welcome!
Peppered cory's are probably on the list as well, but I'll wait for my tank to mature a bit first I think.

Like I said, any suggestions are most welcome!

really glad it's gone well and the fish are settled :good:

unfortunatley some of your suggestions aren't gonna work, the silver sharks get waaay too big for your tank, the angels need a much taller tank and RTBS are quite aggressive so I wouldn't recommend them at all

why not have a look at some of the dwarf cichlids, apistogramma sp

You're right about the silver sharks, they can get to 18 inches, and thus are too large for your tank

RTBS are semi-agressive, mainly towards Botia type loaches, such as clown loach, Botia Kubotia e.t.c. Ruby or rainbow shark may be a bit better; they IME aren't as agressive, and have all red fins, rather than just the cordral red :good:

IMO the Record 96 isn't tall enough for Angels

I'd mebe look at some Tetras to go mid-level and some Corries to do the bottom, six of each. There are hundereds of types of each, so I'm sure you will be able to find some you like. Cardinals and Corry Adoli are amongst my favorites, with cracking colouration IMO.

EDITED for spelling, again.....

Thanks Miss Wiggle. I have seen a nice dwarf gourami in the shop, blue and red, but they only had one so I didn't wan to get just one. I'll be going to another shop next week where they have alot more choice, adn aren't so poor on customer service ( pets at home sucks).
I know the sharks get too big, but now the missus's moved out I may be thinking about a 450 liter bowfront...

I'll let you know!
