I don't know if any of you recall but I posted about a betta I rescued who was very ill, well unfortunately he died, I tried my best to save him but I think he was already very ill when I got him, I thought he was getting better as he perked up alot and even started eating. I even checked on him during the night, but one day when I woke up in the morning he was gone
I only had him a short while but I liked him alot and I hope he was happy for the brief time he was in my care. To be honest it put me off getting another betta as I didn't want to go through it all again as all the bettas I'd seen were pretty much the same as him, in a bad way in tanks with neons.
Well on one of my frequent visits to another lfs to get some bits n pieces for my other tanks I browsed through the tanks(as we all do LOL) and spotted this lovely fellow(the pics a bit blurry but you can see how vibrant he is);
Well I had to have him, and I'm so glad I didn't give up on bettas, he's such a character! I love watching him weave in and out of the plants, through his little pots and just being active in general. The rescued fish didn't do much really he'd swim about and eat but that was it, I thought perhaps he was just settling in but looking back he was probably not feeling well.
Anyway my new betta, who I've decided to call Koroshiya (the orginal koroshiya was the one who died, but I love the name so much I thought he could have it too) is very healthy, flares if I put a mirror near him, loves attention and always swims to the front of the tank if I come near it and loves pigging out on bloodworms but turns his nose up at brine shrimp LOL!
Here's a few more blurry pics of him(they were taken on a phone as my digital is charging), you can't really see it but he's such a vibrant red colour with sparkling blue bits on his scales / rays and he has red / blue eyes;
Also here's the tank redecorated as originally I had a pagoda in and upon advice by some of you I changed for some plants and hiding places, first the original setup;
and the new setup;
The 2 big leaved plants at the front are real and the one at the back is fake and I used the pots off the plants to make little hiding places for him which he loves going in. Any suggestions on improvements are more than welcome
