I took the Tang back to my LFS. My 55 gal tank was driving him crazy. The Goby was unsettled for about 24 hours after the tang was 86'd, but now he's happy and back in his cave. I started with Extreme Garlic today and a fatty acid lipid combo. The LFS said to alternate dosings.
I added a cleaning crew and now I'm gonna let the tank settle for a while before deciding on the final addition.
I'm leaning toward an Angel...smaller of the species.....dwarf...... still thinking

dwarf and pygmy angels are some of my favorite fish.
very colorful and for the most part relatively easy to feed and hardy.

Coral Beautys are a lovely fish and arusually reef safe. Make sure you dont rush into buying one as they come in a multitude of colours. Some are mostly gold and some aaare almost compltely purple. Make sure you choose one that has marking you really like as the areas in which they are caught tend to dictate the marking they carry through life.

86'd ?
Check out my thread on Jan 18 to get the whole pic. The day I took Tang out of the tank was wonderful :-( "NOT DORI!" cried my girls, yeah, great day.

Nav, Coral Beauts are just as the name implies.

My only dilema, my LFS only gets one until it sells, then they stock again. I'm sceptical of other shops i've been in because of conflicting info. I strayed from my LFS to get the tang, the guy assured me "dori" would do great in my 55.
I didn't want to wait for my trusted site to get some tangs in, it seems all i do with my tank is wait... and wait, but now i've been properly spanked so i'm back to practicing the art of virtue again.

It will probably take a couple trips or more to find the coloring pattern that really strikes my fancy.

I was also thinking about a wattanabae couple...
check out my sig. am i right in the assumption that my tank will only accomodate one more fish?

A pair of wattanabaes are lovely fish, they have a high price tag over here so be careful on this. They also grow fairly large (for dwarf angels) and after a while you might need to upgrade the tank to a more suitable size. They come from deeper waters so corals are alien to them mostly (hence why reef safe) but this means they also can suffer with swim bladder problems due to poor catching procedures (I lost my male this way :*) )
Once settled they are awesome fish and quite hardy

Nav,
what do you thingk about my set up????
what am i lacking????
stocking???? (i know this ones a little late, never the less)

i'm getting ready to dust debre from my figi.

Soon after i got the male home he found it difficult to swim properly. The problem was clearer when it tried to swim either up or down as it would not use its tail for propulsion and just used its pectorial fins and even this looked like a struggle. Then it seemed to clear up for a few days and he swam around easily. However it would come back again and again and each time it got worse until finally i guess he could take it no more and passed away :-(

The female showed signs of this too but after going through the same symptoms she seemed to be able to pull through it and she became a very active fish. Sadly when the tank crashed over christmas i lost her

Pygmys are very much more suited to be honest. My friend has a Cherub angel and its a fantastic little devil!
