IovaykInD, the moss has only been on the wood for a few weeks now. It's shaded by the Java Fern plantlets, so growth is slow. But it should speed up a bit when I remove the plants and up grade the lighting.

jimbooo, it's been fairly smooth so far. I have got a bit of hair algae and it's been a bit ...dirty after a filter problem. I just got a phosphate test kit and I think I need to get some ferts. So, with upgrading my lighting and going pressurised soon, there's still time for the algae!

mr_miagi32, it is a nice piece of bogwood, struck it lucky there I think. I have another piece to replace the small bit on the left. I might put it this weekend. I have spent a lot of time reading on the plant forum, and have been thinking of making a journal, maybe over christmas. With the upgrades above I would like to strip the tank and add some Laterite, maybe change from sand to gravel. But that will be some time in the new year.

I've added the new lighting, a pressurised co2 system and a clean/re-arrange.

Still some more plants needed and a lot more work, but it's coming together.

great looking tank, did you use laterite under the sand. I'm having trouble with my sand tank because I've been too lazy to redose the fert tablets. I'm wondering if laterite would fix that problem (or do you have to replace the laterite every so often as well)?

At the moment it just sand. I'm going to work out the lay out first. Then I'll strip it down and put in the laterite.
I not sure, but I don't think you have to replace the laterite, just dose it with some fert tabs possibly?
