Unwanted Snails

Hi all,
I have recently found 2 small snails in my tank, I have fished them out as I didn't want them in there.

My question is where did they come from and how do I stop more appearing?

I did add a plant about 2weeks ago, maybe from that? I do t want anymore so need to know how to stop them

They would of come in on the plants, I've had a few aswell. Why don't you want them? They clean algae.

You should wash your plants before you add them to the tank.

I did wash them, clearly not enough

I will have a snail or two but when I'm ready and of my choice, not ones that dwelled into my tank n multiply lol

Anyway of stopping them?

Just keep fishing them out when you see them. I had about 5 or 6 appear at different times when I first started my tank last year. It should solve the problem. If not I believe if you get an Assasin Snail it will do what its name implies
