hi all
I have ordered an unusual tank and am looking for ideas of what to keep in it.
the tank will be 24"L x 16.5"W x 14"H (approx 20usg).
because it is so wide, I'm thinking of an oddball or two
maybe some kind of puffer.
I'm willing to go brackish, but would prefer F/W.

what would you put in this size tank, I'm open to all (sensable) suggestions :good:

i dont know much about them but could mudskippers work in that tank?i think they are cool

a puffer would be happier w/ more than 20g. Most types need 30g minimum, although i've heard of Dwarf Freshwater Puffers being kept in less.

If you're after something that would suit the tank, anything that grows big but doiesn't move much would be great. Prehistoric monster fish mebbe? Otherwise it's just the choice of any other fish under aboot 5".

that is the same size as my tank I was wondering why thats an odd size tank. What I keep is listed in my sig as well as a pic.

IROC
std UK tanks are eithe 12,15 or 18 inches wide
and 15" high.
that is what make this one unusual :)

Indian Dwarf Puffer

It says a minimum of 30-gallons but they're so small you can keep them in anything 5-gallons+. My lfs has some, they're rather fun to watch. I would suggest a dark substrate such as black gravel or sand with heavy planting as they tend to blend in rather well with more neutral tones such as brown and grey. These guys have a lot of personality and go well with otocinclus's as tank mates. My friend has a dwarf puffer and 4 ottos in a 20-gallon. He keeps a separate 5-gallon tank (previous home of the puffer) where he raises common pond snails as a supplemental food for the puffer.

Unlike the other puffers in this family, the Indian Dwarf requires freshwater with no salt content.
